Sakurai wins a Bronze Gold Leaf Award for its 2020 Calendar
The Foil & Specialty Effects Association (FSEA) has announced that Sakurai was a Bronze level winner in its 27th Annual Gold Leaf Awards Competition during the recent FSEA Online Learning Experience.
Gold, silver and bronze winners were honored in 37 categories that utilized a wide range of specialty finishing techniques, from foil stamping and embossing to specialty coating, film laminating, laser cutting, die cutting and cold foil applications.
Sakurai's award winning 2020 screen calendar was produced by Daido Shiko Printing Corporation based in Nagoya, Japan and uses the artwork Big Tree by the wooden engraving artist Tomoko Hisagi from Hyogo, Japan.
The calendar was printed in 4 colors + OP varnish on a Sakurai 580SDC offset press, then screen printed on a Sakurai MAESTRO 102AX plus hot foil stamping of gold, red, black and blue foil on a Sakurai LQM-105.
