JONESBORO PRINTER ADDS CAPACITY AND BOOSTS PRODUCTION WITH ITS NEW SAKURAI SCREEN PRESS
Art Advertising Labels & Printing Inc. is a prospering, family owned printing company that got its start nearly 50 years ago as a sign company serving Jonesboro, Arkansas and surrounding communities.
Today, under the leadership of owners Stacy and Gary Gestring, the company specializes in industrial printing for manufacturing serving clients locally, nationally and internationally. Art Advertising operates two, state of the art production facilities totaling 30,000 sq. with 40 plus employees.
Art Advertising utilizes the latest available printing technologies from digital, screen, offset printing, flexography and wide format to produce a myriad of printed products for its diverse industrial client base including industrial decals, nameplates, harsh environment products, roll labels, promotional items, displays and exhibits plus the full range of general commercial printing.
Several months ago, the Gestrings recognized the need to speed up production to keep up with growing demand and began investigating available screen press options. After considerable research, and even a recommendation by the leading industry trade association, they decided that Sakurai was the best way to go based on its reputation, longevity, durability, low maintenance and competitive pricing.
Last month, Art Advertising installed a “next generation” Sakurai Maestro MS-80All cylinder screen press equipped with a Natgraph Smart UV dryer, creating one of the highest efficiency printing, drying and curing systems available. Sakurai’s workhorse screen press, the first press of its kind in the state of Arkansas, operates at 4,000 sheets per hour and accepts sheet sizes up to 31 5/8” x 21 3/4”. The Maestro prints on a wide range of substrates such as plastic, film, paper, board and foil with accurate spot coating and special effects.
“Our experience with Sakurai has been great,” said Gary Gestring, Vice President “Everything has gone very smoothly from installation to training and production. And the new press allows us to compete with bigger companies and open up new markets”.
